Education Events

The Canadian Council of Business Leaders Against Anti-Black Systemic Racism anticipates hosting Education Events ten times a year. Depending on the timing of the first Education Event, and if any health orders are in place related to the Covid-19 pandemic at that time, the Education Events may take place either in person, at an event space in Toronto, Ontario, online via video-conferencing, or by a combination of both. In the future, resources permitting, we are also planning to host Education Events in other major cities in Canada.
The Education Events are taking place throughout a half day or full-day and usually take the form of lectures, sometimes with aids such as pictures or power point presentations but may also include a round table discussion or a film screening or other media presentations.

The Canadian Council of Business Leaders Against Anti-Black Systemic Racism will select lecturers and presenters with appropriate qualifications, including leaders in academia, human rights, and the business community. We work with presenters to structure the lectures or presentations in ways that effectively inform the public of the presenter’s area of expertise, and presenters will be selected to address a broad cross-section of current human rights and systemic racism issues. Moreover, we work with our presenters to ensure that the subject matter is based predominantly as an objective and unbiased presentation of facts and information, rather than a one-sided attempt at persuasion.
